Sonoria – “Le Jardin Sonore” (ERR34)
Evil Rabbit Records proudly presents Andreas Willers’ interview for the German Jazz magazine Jazzthetik!
Rigobert Dittmann from Bad Alchemy reviewed Evil Rabbit’s latest two releases beautifully! His words are equally creative as the musical narrative of the two new releases…
ERR29: Sonoria – Live in Pisa
Cosimo Fiaschi – soprano saxophone
Alessandro Giachero – piano, prepared piano
Emanuele Guadagno – electric guitar
Nicholas Remondino – drums, live electronics
ERR30: Meinrad Kneer – Voacabularies
Meinrad Kneer – double bass
Meinrad Kneer – Vocabularies
Meinrad Kneer – double bass
The Berlin based double bass player and runner of Evil Rabbit Records, presents with “vocabularies” his first solo recording. Known as a real storyteller on his instrument, the 13 pieces are all freely improvised – no edits, overdubs, preparations and technical effects have been used.
The title “vocabularies” refers to Meinrad’s understanding, that each improviser works a whole lifetime in order to develop his or her very specific musical vocabulary, which makes the player equally recognizable and unique.
This work focuses on the pure nature of sound matter and its transformation over time. A common language develops through the relations between the poetic transformation of timbre, space and indeterminacy, and the formal aspect of the performance.
