Alessandro Giachero was born in Alessandria (Italy) and he is a musician works in improvised music and composition.

He began studying the piano at the age of 8 years old and he graduated in classical music and performance in 1994 at the Conservatoire in Alessandria. The next year he won the “Ghislieri Prize” as the best Graduation inside the Conservatoire. In 1999 he took part at the International Summer Jazz Workshop in Siena.

In 2000 he achieved the degree “Graduate Diploma in Music” at Leeds College of Music in Leeds in England, where he also won a “Prize award” For Electronique Keyboard”. In 2006 he achieved the two years “Master in Jazz” at the Conservatoire in Florence.

He attended workshops about improvisation and composition with Stefano Battaglia, Roscoe Mitchell, Muhal Richard Abrams, Anthony Braxton and William Parker.

In 2005 and 2006 the Italian jazz journal “Musica Jazz” has indicated Alessandro Giachero as one of the best talented musician in Italy, both as piano player and with his trio “T.R.E.” , as one of the most interesting italian trio.

He recorded 5 CD’s with the trio T.R.E. with the Italian label Abeat records, and it obtained a lot of critical acclaim. The last release “Horo” is recorded in quartet with two pianos, with Stefano Battaglia on the second piano. In 2013 he released his first solo piano album of preludes, based on total improvisation.

In 2015 he will release his album with his large ensemble (string trio, flute, piano, double bass and drums)  of original compositions.

He took part in the Anthony Braxton quartet playing around Europe, and with which he recorded a Box of 6 CD, relaesed by Amirani records.

He also took part in the William Parker Resonance Quartet with Hamid Drake on drums.

He wrote music for exhibitions (such as the Milo Manara exhibition) and short films with a Special Mention at the Film Festival in Cannes and Rome.

He has nominated Head of Jazz Department at the Siena Jazz University since 2012.

He played and recorded with the most important Italian, european and American Musicians such as, among the others: Anthony Braxton, Thomas Stronen, William Parker, Hamid Drake, Michael Blake, Taylor Ho Bynum, Thomas Agergaard, Michele Rabbia, Fulvio Sigurtà, Claudio Fasoli, Stefano Battaglia, Achille Succi,Tiziana Ghiglioni, Massimo Manzi, Massimo Moriconi, Owen Hart, Roberto Bellatalla, Antonio Borghini, Cristiano Calcagnile, Tony Cattano, Silvia Bolognesi, Mirco Mariottini, Marco Zanoli, Stefano Risso, Yuri Goloubev etc.
